Ishaisms, Poetry, Seasons

Fall leaves, fall…

Fall leaves, fall,

in your autumnal grey;

now you prepare for the black pall,

the naked winter days…

Seasons wrap up like chilly pedestrians;

each new morning closer to the close;

how sanguine seem your yellow surfaces,

as if kissed by the sunset’s own hues!

And like the dying in the final stages,

you reveal your beauty with new vigour –

no storms within, no desperate, surging rages –

one with the tide of time and life’s flowing river…

Fall leaves, fall,

pay your autumnal dues;

sleep comes to us all,

before we wake anew…

      1. Oh I’m sorry to hear that sweetheart! But they say it’s always darkest before the dawn.. So perhaps the emptiness is making room for new, wonderful things? πŸ˜˜πŸ’›

  1. Those naked wintery days, when the only antidote shall be the rich words of a thoughtful author who underestimates her own gift! That’s my self medicating with Ishaism balm … soul soothing when the grey clouds descend. Winter I do not fear you! πŸ€—πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

    1. Such refined, sublime words of warmth from one so precious, that all shivers are warded off and I’m looking forward to the winter! Medicating the soul with your words is something I do too, and I have many a sleepless nights’ Armadillo-poetry-reading-marathons to prove it heheh. β€πŸ’• Thanks to you, my asolutely adorable one!

      1. In words we thrive …. for they keep such treasured communication alive!
        And thank you for such a wonderful comment returned dear soul ❀ … now let's discuss that Armadillo insomnia, hmm. It goes against my edict to remove electronic devices from sleep quarters hehe

    1. Thank-you Ankit! Chilly pedestrians are the people walking on the streets/roads who’re cold due to the chill in the air. There’s a word play on the phrase ‘wrap up’ signifying both the act of covering up (of people, due to cold) and the closing (of seasons, due to the transition to autumn). 😊🍁

  2. Serene, beautiful, dreamy, and breathtaking. This was so beautiful. It flowed as smoothly as a love song. So many perfect lines here. Chilly pedestrian line was gorgeous and vivid.

    As for the final line….before we wake anew. A poetic and passionate finale.

    I remember when I first started reading you, lovely poems with adorable doodles.
    But now, you are a muse. Your writing is captivating.

    1. You truly see it all, Drew! This sounded like a song to me too, so the other day I created a little melody and sang it! The pedestrian line is my favourite as well.. I was very, very inspired when this little thing came to me. 😁🍁
      You humble me and I’m overcome with gratitude with your mighty opinion of me. I cherish every word you write! Thank you so much, Drew!
