Ishaisms, Love

Love

Something so divine can never be my doom,
something so pure and sanctified, can never undo,
all that I am, by love, is grown
to magnanimity, to everlasting bloom.

I am no fool here, not even blind;
all my senses are awake; and my mind
is in tune with my spirit, purged, purified,
by this heart’s desire fulfilled, this soul’s thirst satisfied.

Pity those that think love isn’t strength,
may mercy pull them out of their chaotic labyrinth,
may they see that love is the only blessing sent,
without prejudice and judgment, to both sinner and saint.

Love isn’t weakness, nor fragility, but the sweet
purpose of each soul that on earth does meet –
for it is better to die of love and wake in it,
than to die of life and forever, remain asleep…

  1. Most unfortunately, I did not study the writers of antiquity nor the romantic poets of the last few centuries. But if you presented this to me as a little known, uncovered piece from Keats or Browning I would have thanked you for sharing. In other words, this has the taste of another era and the allure of beautiful prose. I love the flow from one line to the next, and the ending …. oh the ending ā¤
In conclusion, one of my favourites – the substance of which is truly deserving of the mighty title! xo

    1. I really had to let this sink in! I think you’ve taken praisonomics to a whole new level… I mean, Keats? Browning? Really?! Oh my! You’ve made my year, dear Diana. I am so glad you liked this so much (and I also think you should refresh your memory of the romantic poets of old to know how far fetched your praise is, hehe)!
One of your ‘favourites’ is something I both cheer and cherish. Truly, truly grateful for your words šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ˜˜

      1. Hark! The science of praisonomics stands firm against the hazy false memory that tells me I did not reply to your message!? Although Iā€™m sure I did! Did I dream it? Iā€™m all higglety pigglety in my mind these days. Forgive my hushed moments and know that I adore you and your writing… ā¤ļø Life, busy, ugh….
