Death, Ishaisms, Poetry

Death

On a dark twilight, over the hills

for the life of me, in fear and vain, I fled

as Death rode behind in a suit of armour –

then beat me, and slayed me dead.

He marched away as, renewed, I did rewake

to the sounds of the hoofbeats of the mare

and kneeling, did look upon the receding transformer

that brought me my new dawn, my new day…

  1. I found this very affecting, and despite the somber title ( I was tentative as I began to read) …. there is hope and rebirth, and creativity, which combined make me do a midweek twirl. You write so well and I am so pleased to know I will never be disappointed ❤

  2. This is so well crafted, Isha! This piece gives the idea of how good you are. I know this is not a recent post and you’ve come a long way now, but going through this makes me realize you’ve always possessed the skills to draw people into your work. Your words work like magic and your poetry is a pleasure to the soul. You have a lovely day ❤
