Rainy Moonbeam

Rainy moonbeam,

gleaming in the water,

puddles spluttering droplets,

of pearly white colour…

Who do you wait for,

thundering Luna luminescent?

Why do you stay aloof,

in dripping distance?

Taking cover behind the cloud,

percolating, palled and peering,

milky melancholy glances around,

have the stars kept you waiting?

Come down, sweet moon,

descend in glowing strides,

I’ll stay awake with you,

forget the stars and tides!

  1. “Come down, sweet moon,
    descend in glowing strides,
    I’ll stay awake with you,
forget the stars and tides” – mesmerized eternally. You stole my heart with this, my nights will be better after reading this.😘❀️

      1. That fills my heart with warmth! May la Luna bless your nights and dark clouds give way to the sunshine you so deserve, sweetheart! Much love.

      2. Wasn’t me, but you know who it is. I was still lost in the reflections, mine and the moon’s, in the deserted puddles.

  2. Your words are never a dripping distance from me: they are like droplets of dew glistening in my palm like liquid gems….
So lovely this is, as lovely as the heart that conjures, dreams and posts here πŸ’ŸπŸ’œπŸ’Ÿ

      1. Ivory is such an apt word for moon musings! Cool and an imperfect white, shaded by the shade from fingertip shaped clouds on a restless night.
Oh dear… haha, see what you inspire with your writing πŸ‘€πŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ˜‚

      2. I was smiling throughout while reading your thoughtful imagery 😍 It’s not everyday I am lucky enough to inspire Lady D hehe.. ❀❀ (except for chocolate, but then she doesn’t need inspiration for that) 😁

      3. But I don’t tell me how often you inspire me! Sometimes I muffle it behind a big smile, or backspace backspace for digit workouts! Your words are the whispers of soul moulded by intellect into a heart shape…. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜

      5. Oh!! Beautiful… but engraving sounds painful, how about a little fake tattoo full of memorable colours 😊
WhatsApp is being nicely replaced by comment section jousting this evening!! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜˜πŸ’œ

(Shockingly silly) WhatsApp conversations being replaced by WordPress comments is okay only for a while though lol. πŸ˜›πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

  4. How I have missed reading your poems and scanning the accompanying sketch… I have not been able to keep up with my feed, and have felt so disconnected… I was blessed to find the time to read a few posts today, and it made my day that this lovely poem was one of them.
