Dearest pair of eyes-number-two,
I hate how I can’t do without you;
how you won’t let me read lying down,
and push yourself up and out as if you’d drown;
then fall onto my side and cross your arms in anger,
submitting me to your whims and fancies and temper!
You get dusty in a matter of minutes,
(for of course I’ll always be ready for cleaning service!)
Don’t even get me started on how you slide, tickling my nose,
think you’re doing me a favour? Er – NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Learn to sit straight and in your place,
I’m doing enough by keeping you ON MY FACE!
Stop taking advantage of my fear of lenses,
never forget, you’re only an artificial pair of senses!
If you start abusing your power and continue playing these games,
know that I won’t shop for those lovely new frames!
So be a good pair of glasses, and take heed,
for we both know you’re my dearest (and direst) need!

A work or humour and whimsy, though the subject matter is anything but flimsy hehe! I like the indignant tone as you most cleverly personify those bothersome frames. And I can so relate….for I was that little five year old, squinting at the blackboard in elementary school. A life of sight correction awaited me and perhaps you, my spectacular spectacled sister in rhyme?
Happy morning smiles to you πππ

My pleasure, always! I do wear contact lenses and have funny tales of losing them over the years. Friends on hands and knees, in the rain when they would launch unexpected from an eyeball haha.
Enjoy a sweet Sunday lovely lady πππβοΈβοΈ

Great post! Glasses do seem to have a lot of attitude…Being colorblind and sunlight-sensitive, I am heavily reliant on complete wrap-around sunglasses whenever I step out. So much of this post rings true!
